Apprentice Tattoos

Disclaimer

You're aware you are receiving a tattoo from an apprentice under the supervision of their mentor. You understand that as part of their training, the apprentice is gaining practical experience, which may result in potential imperfections or mistakes in the tattoo.

You voluntarily agree to serve as a model for this purpose and understands that the tattoo is provided free of charge as part of the apprentice's learning process. You willingly volunteered for the session and agree that neither the apprentice artist nor their mentor shall be held liable for any perceived dissatisfaction, imperfections, or mistakes in the tattoo.

Tips

Should I Tip?

It is customary to tip tattoo artists just like it is customary to tip restaurant staff. .You're not obligated to tip whatsoever but don't use the lack of tip to communicate any dissatisfaction with your artist or service.

  • Tips in cash only

  • Tip big (e.g. 20%) if you can and you love your tattoo. Please, do not feel obligated to tip 20%+, that is not expected of you in any way.

  • Do talk to your artist whenever you feel something isn’t being handled well (consultation, design, etc). A small tip (or no tip) shouldn’t be the only sign that you are dissatisfied. I won't be able to know.

  • Don't apologize for the fact you can't afford to tip. Tipping is appreciated but you shouldn't feel bad if you can't afford to tip.

  • Tipping is completely up to the client! I don't expect a tip but it's always appreciated.

Tips

Can I Bring a Friend?

For apprentice sessions*

Please avoid bringing extra company, as they will be asked to wait outside. The space is small, and this is also a mentorship class for me. While your friends might think it’s fun to hang out at the shop while you’re getting tattooed, the reality is that they’ll likely find it boring and uncomfortable. Thank you for understanding!

  • Don’t bring extra people with you to be tattooed without asking the shop first

  • Do limit your party to just you and if accompanied encourage your friends to go do something while you get tattooed

Appointment Cancellation Disclaimer

As this is a free courtesy tattoo provided as part of my apprenticeship, I kindly ask that you notify me as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. Failing to show up without notice can significantly impact my progress and learning experience.

If you cannot make it, I would greatly appreciate your consideration in making up for the missed appointment by supporting my apprenticeship in another way, such as rescheduling, sharing my work, or referring someone to volunteer as a model.

Thank you for respecting my time and dedication to this craft!
